Atlanta Officer Claims Victim Suffered Fractured Face From ‘Falling’

(SL) – There are two sides to every story and what Officer Yasin Abdulahad says happened to Anthony Walters is far different from what he claims. One thing is evident, Walters’ face is bruised, bloody, swollen and worst of all fractured. The question is….how did it get that way?

His injuries are synonymous with a couple of things like a severe beating or maybe a car wreck. But considering the situation took place at a bar in Midtown, they look to be more consistent with a severe beating which is what Walters alleges Officer Abdulahad did to him.

Abdulahad is already being investigated for shooting and killing a man outside of the public safety annex. And now Walters says he was on the receiving end of Yasin Abdulahad’s unlawful behavior.

“The situation traumatizes me, every day. To even have to think about it,” Walters told reporters.

The incident happened Oct 16, 2016.  Police say Officer Yasin Abdulahad was in full uniform but working an off-duty job at Bulldogs on Peachtree Street in midtown.

Reportedly, the officer, another officer at the scene and a witness stated Mr. Walters was belligerent and refused to leave the scene when he was asked to leave the bar.  In his report, Abdulahad, an 11-year veteran said Walters refused to leave the premise after being asked repeatedly.

Seconds later, the officer alleges Walters swung at him striking him in his forehead forcing him to grab the 25-year-old and cuff him. It’s during that struggle Abdulahad claims the two fell to the ground and that led to the injuries on Walters’ face.

“Did he mention the part where he fractured the whole right side of my face?” Walters asked the reporter.

Sgt. Warren Pickard with the Atlanta Police Department says, “In order for us to do a fair investigation we must have both sides of the story. He’s not cooperating with the investigation at this point.”

Walters has yet to share his side of the story with authorities. As to whether or not he swung on the officer first, Walters says he doesn’t remember because he was knocked unconscious.

Muhammad Ali, Jr. Detained For Hours By Customs In Fort Lauderdale Over Name

(SL) -Muhammad was returning from a Black History Month event in Jamaica with his mother when he was questioned by customs at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport over his name and whether or not he is muslim.

Ali Jr., 44, who confirmed his Muslim faith, was detained about two hours, despite telling officials that he’s Ali’s son and a native-born U.S. citizen, said Chris Mancini, a family friend and attorney.

Him and his mother, Khalilah Camacho Ali were pulled aside and separated from each other on Feb. 7 at the immigration checkpoint. She was released after showing a picture of herself with ex husband, former boxing champ and Presidential Award if Freedom recipient Muhammad Ali. Muhammad Jr. didn’t have a photo so he was held longer.

It was the first time Ali Jr. and his mother have ever been asked if they’re Muslim when re-entering the United States.

 

Their attorney says, “From the way they were treated, from what was said to them, they can come up with no other rational explanation except they fell into a profiling program run by customs, which is designed to obtain information from anyone who says they’re a Muslim,” Mancini said in a phone interview. “It’s quite clear that what triggered his detention was his Arabic name and his religion.”

Remy Ma Borrows Beat From Nas, ‘shETHER’ Melts Wax Off Of Self Proclaimed ‘Barbie’ Nicki Minaj

(SL)- There have been some pretty lyrical rap battles in the history of music, but none quite like this. Well, I can’t even call it a battle because whatever Nicki allegedly released with Gucci doesn’t directly reference Remy Ma.  But Remy Ma isn’t into subliminal jabs or sneak attacks. She’s aiming straight for Barbie’s head and from the first word, Nicki knows she’s coming directly for her and it isn’t pretty.

Nicki also tried to take shots at Remy’s albums sales with Fat Joe and the track All The Way Up. However the song was nominated for a Grammy, so why she posted numbers from a debut week, I will never know. Unless, the post was made months ago. ‘All The Way Up’ clearly blew ….all the way up!

The track is a play on Ether, the famous 2001 diss track by Nas against  Jay Z. Remy is dropping a lot of scoop in the track and to be honest I’m not quite sure how Minaj could even try to respond.

Former Labor Secretary Tom Perez Will Lead DNC, And Gives Donald Trump Some Top Tier Shade

(SL) – As reported by the Daily Mail, US Democrats have elected former Labor Secretary Tom Perez as chairman on Saturday, choosing a veteran of the Obama administration to lead the daunting task of rebuilding the party and heading the opposition to Republican President Donald Trump.

Members of the Democratic National Committee picked Perez on the second round of voting after one of the most crowded and competitive party leadership elections in decades.

Perez beat Rep Keith Ellison of Minnesota, who was backed by liberal leader US Senator Bernie Sanders on a 235-200 vote. After he was named chair, Perez picked the runner-up to be deputy chairman in a show of unity.

In a statement Obama said: ‘Congratulations to my friend Tom Perez on his election to lead the Democratic Party, and on his choice of Keith Ellison to help him lead it. I’m proud of all the candidates who ran, and who make this great party what it is. What unites our party is a belief in opportunity – the idea that however you started out, whatever you look like, or whomever you love, America is the place where you can make it if you try.

‘Over the past eight years, our party continued its track record of delivering on that promise: growing the economy, creating new jobs, keeping our people safe with a tough, smart foreign policy, and expanding the rights of our founding to every American – including the right to quality, affordable health insurance.

Donald Trump attempted to send well wishes Perez’s way but he was shut down quick.

“Congratulations to Thomas Perez, who has just been named Chairman of the DNC. I could not be happier for him, or for the Republican Party!” Trump tweeted.

Perez responded shortly afterward:

“Call me Tom. And don’t get too happy.  @ keithellison  and I, and Democrats united across the country, will be your worst nightmare,” he tweeted.

Alex Rodriguez Splits Silicone Valley Billionaire Anne Wojcicki

(SL) – Alex Rodriguez and wealthy Silicon Valley CEO Anne Wojcicki ,43, have split after almost a year of dating. When the two connected, most thought they made an odd couple with nothing in common.

Well..she’s worth 30 billion dollars and while Rodriguez has a respectable net worth of about 400 million there’s a difference ….BIG difference. He might be rich, but she’s wealthy.

On a serious note, the two, only 2 years apart in age, had a common interest in the tech world and Rodriguez was attracted to her intellect.

Wojcicki pioneered a DNA research company, 23 and Me, in 2003, which gives individualized information on clients genetic history. It also does research into diseases such as Parkinson’s and asthma.

She was previously married to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and the two have remained cordial after their divorce was finalized in 2015.

Rodriguez is in Tampa on Friday getting ready for a spring training game between the Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.

Rodriguez, 41, played his last game for the Yankees in August. He remains with the team though as an adviser.

Children Spooked By ‘Goblin’ Type Figure While Playing in Argentina

(SL) – Not sure what this is…but it’s certainly pretty spooky.  While playing football, a group of Argentinian children are at first oblivious to something lurking about a 100 yards away from them.  But then, one kid rolling footage on his cell notices the dark shape and zooms in on it.

Seemingly neither man nor beast, the mysterious figure that resembles a ‘goblin,  crawls slowly forward, swaying, moving awkwardly. And it is in deed eerie. Take a look for yourself.

 

The kids were playing in the city of Santiago del Estero in the northern Argentinian province of the same name.

Local media also described the strange figure as a goblin. Goblins are monstrous mythical creatures first mentioned in European folklore in the Middle Ages.

They are usually described as small and grotesque, mischievous beings with conflicting abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on who you ask.

 

The Carters Take All-Star Weekend

(SL) – The NBA All-Star game got a treat it wasn’t expecting…an appearance by the Carters.  Jay, Bey, Blue and the twins were courtside for all of the action as longtime friend Lebron James played for the East. The 66th All-Star Game took place in New Orleans.

Bey and Blue were pictured having lunch with Solange and her son Juelz over the weekend. Beyonce wrapped her baby bump in a chic patterned kimono for the occasion.

She also sported a white T-shirt, ripped light blue jeans and a pair of strappy stilettos.

 

The ‘Rumor’ Is True, German Shepherd Wins Best In Show At West Minister

(SL) – Rumor put off kids, to jump back in the competition. No seriously. The German Shepherd was on track to puppies when the beauty decided to give it one more try in the ring. Okay..well maybe she didn’t make that decision but her owners did.

Why is Rumor’s win such a big deal. Well, it’s the year of the comeback. Following the Patriots, Cubs and Cavaliers,  Rumor was crowned America’s top dog Tuesday night when, a year after a near miss on the very same green carpet.

She came out of retirement to win best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club and became only the second German Shepherd to win the title since the competition began in 1877.

The 5-year-old  beat out a Norwegian elkhound, a Pekingese, a miniature poodle, an Irish setter, a boxer and a Norwich terrier in the final ring. The Irish setter called Adrian finished second. “The German shepherd standard talks about quality and nobility,” judge Thomas Bradley III said. “When you recognize it, it hits you at home, and that’s what it really is. She is just magnificent.”

Rumor is named for the hit song “Rumor Has It” by Adele, a champion herself after sweeping the major categories at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

This was the 104th career win for Rumor, and earlier in the day, handler and co-owner–Kent Boyles said that this would definitely, for real, be her last major show.

“She’s going to be relaxing for a while,” Boyles said after the win, but ultimately, there are “puppies in her future.” Good Job, Rumor!
