Why Is Arsenal Star Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ Mom Homeless?

(London, UK) – He’s one of the Arsenal’s premiere players under a deal in the ballpark of $15-$18 Million residing in a million dollar apartment, but his mother is sleeping in crate.

When I saw this story, I couldn’t believe it. Trying not to judge, I read article after article trying to figure out what the background/history was between Ainsley and his 38-year old mom Jule. Did she abandoned him when he was a baby.?..NO. Was she a drug addict?…NO. Had she bee abusive towards him or his brother?…NO. It has to be something right? What would push a person to abandon his mother while he lives in luxury? Jule Niles says she’s trying to figure it out too.

Jule said she began living in a box at the Big Yellow Storage Facility three months ago after her relationship broke down with the 20-year old.

‘My son Ainsley could buy me a flat with two weeks or two month’s wages. But the money’s gone to his head and I’m in this position. My son plays for Arsenal and I am homeless and in a storage unit.  It’s not a home. I know what home feels like – to be able to shower, brush your teeth and sit in your room. All that I miss – but most of all I miss my family. It’s horrible. I just want to know what I’ve done wrong.’

Jule says she lives in fear that warehouse staff will realize she is sleeping in the container and turf her out on the streets.nintchdbpict000388969901She said, ‘I wait until everyone has gone home and slip into the unit when it is dark. It is heartbreaking. The area is covered in snow and it’s not been above freezing for days. I heard a homeless man died here overnight on Thursday.’

The Daily Mail reports, Jule told how when the boys were growing up she was sometimes so poor that she went hungry so they could eat and often considered stealing food. Ainsley was spotted by Arsenal scouts and signed for the club’s academy when he was six. All her sacrifices appeared to have paid off when in December 2014 he made his debut for The Gunners aged 17 in the Champions League against Galatasaray.

Four days later he made his Premier League debut in a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United. He said, ‘I want to thank my family and God mostly for putting me here.’

Asked what he would do with his match shirt, he said, ‘I think I’ll frame it and give it to my mum.’

reiss-nelson-arsenal-231017Somewhere down the line, something went wrong. It’s reported that Jule was one of those overbearing sports’ moms fighting for her son’s ability to get what he deserved was even arrested once for clashing with the Arsenal’s chief negotiator Dick Law in 2015, but the police took no action.

Reportedly, another incident took place in 2016 when he joined Ipswich on loan. She was accused of leaving an unpleasant message on manager Mick McCarthy’s voicemail after he wouldn’t let Ainsley attend an England kit launch. A claim she denies.

When Ainsley’s career took off he initially paid the rent so he, Jule and  brother Cordi could live in a three-bedroom home near Arsenal’s training center in Hertfordshire. Ainsley sent his mom on a holiday to Australia in 2016, but she says when she returned she could tell everything was different. Both of her sons were acting strange and they moved out of the house in the middle of the night leaving her alone and giving her 6 months to move. That was probably why he sent her on vacation.

Whether he has been instructed to distance himself from his mom or not, who knows but to leave her homeless isn’t right. A friend of Ainsley’s says he was unaware of his mom’s living condition. Jule doesn’t deny that he offered to send her money, but she says she needs him to help her get a place to live by signing on as the guarantor. Jule, a childcare worker, said she could not find anywhere to rent because she is on a zero-hours contract and her income is irregular.

Her son hasn’t commented yet.

Miami Takes Advantage Of Undisciplined Plays To Comeback From 17 And Beat The Falcons

(SL) – What the heck happened? The Atlanta Falcons have some tweaking to do after blowing a 17 pt lead and losing to the Dolphins.
Atlanta got off to a quick start with its usual performance from Devonta Freeman. His speed was hard to contain and he was able to burst through gaining yards and adding to easy field position as the Falcons dominated and shutdown Miami’s run game all together in the first half.
Matt Ryan even connected with Marvin Hall for a beautiful 40-yard Touchdown pass that pretty much made fans wonder where he’s been all this time. Answer: The practice squad and he was promoted a day earlier because of an injury to starting receiver Mohamed Sanu.
22406267_1697220580301661_5276368061980464365_nThe falcons were rolling. Tevin Coleman scored on a 6-yard run, and Matt Bryant was good with the 50-yard field goal.
Miami was struggling and Jay Cutler (who put off retirement)  failed to connect any pass longer than 12 yards and was even picked off by Deion Jones late in the first half. The Falcons would return for the 3rd quarter up 17-0 and then somebody left the gate open.
It was as if they switched roles. Miami came out blazing with 15-plays that moved the ball 75 yards and then Cutler connected with Sills for the 11-yard TD.

Ryan would be haunted by interceptions once again. (He’s thrown 6 in the past 3 games) And undisciplined play would be costly.

22448317_1697220863634966_5097774583085108295_nCutler hit Jarvis  Landry for a 7-yard TD after a roughing-the-quarterback penalty on Grady Jarrett killed an interception by Jones deep in Atlanta territory and set the Dolphins up nicely.

The Falcons also botched a punt. The punter tried to picked it up and run but was tackled short of the first down. The Dolphins were set to move and capitalize on a 49-yard field goal which tied the game at 17.

Cody Parkey kicked a 39-yard field goal with 2:30 remaining and just like the Dolphins led 20-17.  Then…safety Reshad Jones intercepted Matt Ryan at the 6-yard line with 39 seconds left and that was all she wrote.

Jay Cutler was 19 of 32 for 151 yards while Matt Ryan finished 24 of 35 for 248 yards.

Falcons Lose To The Bills 23-17, Loss Of Jones and Sanu Costly

(SL) – One could say that the Falcons got going late, putting their first set of points on the board with a 28-yard field goal in the second quarter. But others would say the Bills just came to play. After a scoreless first quarter, both the Falcons and the Bills turned the heat up inside Mercedes Benz Stadium in the second qtr.

After the Falcons put up 3, the Bills would make good use of their next possession on a pass from Tyrod Taylor to Jordan Matthews and take the lead 7-3. Not to be outdone, Devonta Freeman ended the first half with a short TD and it was 7-10.

Second half, there would be an absolute shift in energy and ball control. The Bills opened the scoring in the second half when Tre’davious White scooped up a Matt Ryan fumble and took it in for a touchdown (14-10). This would be the start of several fumbles and bad ball control. And did I mention that two people were noticeably absent.  Julio Jones and Mohammed Sanu were out. Jones with a hip injury and Sanu’s hamstring would put them both on the sideline.

The Bills made good on an interception in the third after Matt Ryan attempted to go long and Micah Hyde foiled his plan. Heading into the 4th, the Bills worked their way down to 3rd and 1 inches away from the goal line, but instead of just going for it, they try to apparently pull the Falcons offside a suffered from a delay of game; forcing them to settle for a field goal 17-10.

But all hope was not lost for Atlanta.  After WR Justin Hardy dropped a beautiful pass from Ryan, he would make up for it with 7 minutes left.  Ryan led his team down the field with an impressive drive and Hardy caught a 3-yard TD tying it up 17-17. It was also Hardy’s first TD catch of the season.

Tyrod Taylor, however, continued to blast through, putting the Bills in field goal position and the 56-yard kick was good. 20-17.

But we didn’t dare blink, this was a good one. The Falcons turned right around and off of a monstrous return from Andre Roberts, Atlanta found themselves at the BUF 42 yard line. The celebration would be short lived though, when Matt Ryan threw another interception. The result…. another field goal (55-yards with 3:06 left) by Buffalo and it’s 23-17 with a little less than 3 minutes to go. The Falcons drive but Matt Ryan is unable to connect with anybody and with that fourth and one stop the Bills hand the Falcons their first loss of the season.

Player of the game: Tyrod Taylor 12-20,182 yards and 1 TD

Roger Goodell Responds To Donald Trump’s Comments About NFL Players That Take A Knee

(SL) – Donald Trump  went after the NFL Friday night during a rally for Republican Senate candidate Luther Strange. The president suggested that any player that takes a knee or protests during the national anthem should be fired.”Get that son of a b—- off the field right now, out. He’s fired. He’s fired!”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell responded today saying, “The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture. There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we’ve experienced over the last month. Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”

Patriots Kickoff 2017 Season Against Chiefs

(SL) – The 2017 season kicks off on Thursday, September 7 (8:30 PM ET, NBC) when the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots host the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium in a battle of 2016 AFC playoff teams.

The Chiefs and Patriots meet for the 35th time in series history – including a 2015 AFC Divisional contest (New England, 27-20) – with Kansas City holding a 17-14-3 advantage. The Patriots have won their past eight home openers played on Kickoff Weekend and 12 of their past 13 overall in Week 1. The Patriots have one the last 2 out of 3.

New England QB TOM BRADY passed for 28 touchdowns with two interceptions last year and led the NFL with a 14.0 touchdown/interception ratio, the highest single-season ratio in league history.

Kansas City opened the 2016 season by overcoming a 21-point second-half deficit to defeat the Chargers 33-27 in overtime on Kickoff Weekend. Chiefs TE TRAVIS KELCE led all NFL tight ends with 1,125 receiving yards and ranked second with 85 catches in 2016.

Hundreds Rally To Support Unsigned NFL Player Colin Kaepernick

(SL) – Heavy support for  29-year old Colin Kaepernick continues to grow after the QB still has yet to get back on a team in the NFL.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell insists that there’s no coordinated effort to bar Kaepernick. But many question why one of the top QBs, who led San Francisco to the Super Bowl in 2013, doesn’t have a job.
Goodell says, “I think every one of our teams will do what is in their best interest to put a winning team on the field and to do what they really are hoping to do, which is create a franchise that is winning,’ he said. ‘And if they see that opportunity, they’ll do that.”
The former San Francisco 49ers offensive leader was at the heart of a controversial silent protest last year when he began kneeling during the national anthem to demonstrate against police brutality and racial injustice.

He was subsequently released by the team at the end of last year’s season and has yet to be picked up by another franchise.

On Wednesday, hundreds of fans attended a demonstration in front of the  NFL’s main offices in Manhattan. His fans believe wholeheartedly that he is being blackballed. The issue has raised a national debate in some quarters as to whether athletes should be engaged in political demonstrations on the field.

Other players have followed Kaepernick’s example, refusing to stand up for the anthem in a gesture both in support of Kaepernick and his stance against racial discrimination.

On Monday, at least 12 members of the Cleveland Browns refused to stand for the national anthem, the largest on-field sign of solidarity by an NFL team yet.

Children Spooked By ‘Goblin’ Type Figure While Playing in Argentina

(SL) – Not sure what this is…but it’s certainly pretty spooky.  While playing football, a group of Argentinian children are at first oblivious to something lurking about a 100 yards away from them.  But then, one kid rolling footage on his cell notices the dark shape and zooms in on it.

Seemingly neither man nor beast, the mysterious figure that resembles a ‘goblin,  crawls slowly forward, swaying, moving awkwardly. And it is in deed eerie. Take a look for yourself.

The kids were playing in the city of Santiago del Estero in the northern Argentinian province of the same name.

Local media also described the strange figure as a goblin. Goblins are monstrous mythical creatures first mentioned in European folklore in the Middle Ages.

They are usually described as small and grotesque, mischievous beings with conflicting abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on who you ask.

Cam Newton Surprises Terminally Ill 10-Year Old For Christmas

(SL) – 10-year-old Taylor Austin Deckard  got the surprise of a lifetime after getting a visit from NFL MVP Cam Newton.

Taylor suffers from advanced pulmonary hypertension, and the Auburn Tigers fan was forced to spend his holiday at Atlanta’s Egleston Hospital awaiting surgery. Apparently, Taylor is 100 percent obsessed with Cam. He writes all of his school papers about Cam and even decorated his room with Cam related memorabilia.

Taylor’s physical education teacher, Courtney Cooper,  posted about Austin’s wish to meet Newton. A week later Cam, who is from Atlanta and likely home for the holiday, was at the hospital to meet the little fella!  Video of the encounter shows Austin sitting in his bed with his Tigers jersey on when Newton walks in….see the video for the rest!

Chargers Rally To Beat Falcons 33-30 In Crushing OT Loss

(SL) –  What happened in Sunday’s match-up between the Falcons and the Chargers defies offensive integrity. Atlanta came out guns blazing unified and cohesive. The chemistry was as tight as thread in a needle and before you knew it the Falcons had a 17 pt lead (27-10) and it looked like a game where one could cut out early and beat traffic. It was in the bag.
And then, as quickly as a blowout looked to be in sight the Chargers found momentum and capitalized on missed opportunities and penalties.  We’re not going to talk about  the back to back false starts.  The line was struggling ..leaving room for San Diego to rack up 20 points to Atlanta’s 3 and next thing you know..we’re heading into OT.
In OT, Denzel Perryman who had picked off a pass to Julio Jones  earlier in the game, popped up again and caught the Falcons slipping when they decided to go for it 4th and 1 on their own 45. Devanta Freeman took the hand-off but Perryman was right and the result was a loss of one.
Now don’t get it twisted. San Diego is not with the sh***. They’re a tough team to beat but Atlanta can’t squander away a 17 point lead and then lose ground in OT leaving San Diego in field goal range with little to no work to do. A field goal doesn’t take much effort and that’s what Matty Matt and the boys handed to Philip Rivers and his Diego squad.
On another note: Julio Jones is in a league of his own. Watching him catch balls is so effortless it looks like everything is in slow motion. His arms are too long, he’s too quick and he can jump way too high..no match for him really. Julio reeled in a 50 yarder and overall had a good game but the Falcons have got to play four strong qtrs.  The Falcons will play the Packers at home on Sunday. Kickoff is at 4:25p.

On Any Given Sunday: Matt Ryan and Julio Jones Break Records As The Falcons Pound The Panthers

(SL) – The Atlanta Falcons made a move to the top of the NFC Sunday after beating the Carolina Panthers 48-33. At 3-1, the Falcons now have a 2 game lead in the NFC South and feel confident that there won’t be a repeat of last season’s strong start (5-0, 6-1) and struggle finish that left them out of the playoffs.sam_0192What’s different? They’re focused and stronger offensively which was proven against the Saints when star WR Julio Jones had just one catch and the Falcons proved to have more weapons than one. Fast forward to the Carolina game and Julio not only stepped up but broke his won franchise record with a 300 yard game. sam_0194Something Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank celebrated on the sideline before finding his All-Pro WR and giving him a hug. Jones caught 12 passes for 300 yards including one 75-yard touchdown; and Ryan threw for a franchise record 503 yards, completing 28-37 passes with four touchdowns. The two put on a clinic for sure in front over 70 thousand fans at the Georgia Dome. Coach Quinn talked about their connection post game and a chemistry that’s undeniable.

Coach Quinn knew it would be an all-day fight against the Carolina Panthers and didn’t feel comfortable in the direction of victory until CB Robert Alford made two interceptions to solidify a win. Up next, the Falcons will take on an undefeated Denver Broncos team in Denver.
