Brexit Still Going Nowhere In British Parliament

(London-AP) — Brexit is still going nowhere in the British Parliament. Prime Minister Theresa May’s third Brexit plan was defeated by the House of Commons today. May had offered to resign if lawmakers approved her latest plan to exit from the European Union, or EU. Britain is scheduled to leave the EU on April 12th, without a negotiated path to ensure a smooth exit. The Prime Minister could seek another extension of the deadline. British voters approved an exit from the EU in a special referendum a couple of years ago.

May and lawmakers have struggled mightily to come up with a plan for a smooth departure from the EU. May could also try to schedule another voter referendum on whether Britain should divorce the EU.

More Than a Dozen Parents Due in Court for Largest College Cheating Scheme in U.S. History

(Boston, MA-AP) — More than a dozen parents charged in the nationwide college admissions cheating scheme are appearing in court. Authorities say the parents paid to rig their children’s standardized test scores or they bribed coaches and college administrators to get their children into prestigious universities.

Among the group of parents appearing in court today is Michelle Janavs, a member of the family that invented of “Hot Pockets.” Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who were also charged, are not scheduled to appear in court until next week. At least three people have pleaded guilty in the case in Boston, including former Yale Women’s Soccer Coach Rudy Meredith.

Arizona Cops Take Toddler With Fever

(Chandler, AZ-AP) — An Arizona couple is fighting to get their three kids back after cops took them at gunpoint because the parents refused to take one of them to the hospital. Phoenix-metro area couple Sarah Beck and Brooks Bryce say they took their sick two-year-old to a clinic in February and doctors there ordered them to take the boy to a hospital because he had a 105-degree fever.

The couple says the fever soon broke so they never went. The doctor found out the child never went and contacted child services. That led to the Chandler Police Department breaking down the family’s door and putting all the kids in the custody of the state. Police say the home had “clutter everywhere” and more than one of the children had vomited in their beds.

At least one Arizona state representative is calling on child services to return the child.

Trump: FBI, DOJ To Look Into Smollett Case

(Washington, DC – AP) — President Trump is blasting this week’s developments in the Jussie Smollett case. He tweeted this morning “FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!”

It comes after prosecutors in Chicago dropped all 16 charges the Empire actor was facing in connection with accusations he lied to police about an alleged racist and homophobic attack by two men wearing MAGA hats.

When the story first broke in January, Trump sympathized with Smollett saying “It doesn’t get worse, as far as I’m concerned.” After the actor was accused of staging the whole thing, Trump called out Smollett on Twitter, asking “What about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments?”

Family Seeks Answers As Autopsy Being Done On Elementary School Student Who Died After Fight In Class

(Walterboro, SC) — What is happening in our schools?  A South Carolina school district says a fifth-grader is dead after she got into a classroom fight. Officials say ten-year-old Raniya Wright was airlifted to a Charleston hospital from her Colleton County school last week and died a short time later .

Police say Raniya Wright was knocked unconscious in the fight at Forest Hills Elementary School in Walterboro. School officials say she was a model student.

“Raniya was a wonderful student. She loved to write, spend time with her friends, play basketball and loved being a big sister. She was actively involved in her church as a junior usher,” the district said in a statement. “She will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and the entire school community.”
“Our entire school district is saddened by this event,” the district said. “It is very difficult to experience the death of a young person.”

The fellow 5th grade Forest Hills Elementary student she was fighting with is so far only suspended indefinitely.

The school hasn’t released anymore details. But an autopsy is being done and her parents want answers.

Jermaine Van Dyke, Raniya’s father is looking for justice for his daughter. He wants to find out what happened, how it happened and who was involved. The Attorney for the family, David Aylor, says Van Dyke has had “little to no contact” from anyone since the tragedy occurred. Few details have been released about what happened, but the sheriff’s office says no weapons were used.

Fall Of A Dynasty: Greed Could Mean The End For Big Baller Brand

(Los Angeles, CA) –  The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:10, For the love of money is the root of all evil. And it looks like money could end up being the downfall of the Big Baller Brand.
Love him or hate him, LaVar Ball  with his valiant and often boisterous personality has positioned his three sons Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo to be a 1,2,3 punch dynasty in the NBA. He’s groomed his boys to be disciplined in life and the game of basketball and as they transform to current and future NBA stars, the marketing almost works itself.
Who wouldn’t be interested in three brothers, at one point, lined up to dominate High School, College and NBA basketball all at the same time. Fans are banking on decades of the Ball brothers showing out, especially the youngest one. It made perfect financial sense to turn the Ball Brand into a real business.
That’s what family friend Alan Foster said when he saw the attention and publicity surrounding LaVar’s sons and LaVar as he stirred up controversy and interest (often negative) pretty much everywhere he went.  Some say that controversy is what’s keeping middle son LiAngelo out of the league right now while others, from the beginning, understood the father of three’s vision and the mechanics of his abrasive ways.
I’ll admit.  For the longest, I just wanted pops to be quiet. I was one that was skeptical until I took the time to watch the family’s reality show on Facebook Watch, “Ball in The Family”.
What I saw was a well orchestrated and organized household designed to turn LaVar Ball and Tina Ball’s sons, and any of their friends who were willing to put in the work, into bonafide basketball beasts and respectable young men. LaVar ball doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke and detests tattoos (until his son Gelo got not one, but a few and Lonzo soon followed). And then there’s the dynamic between him and his wife and his commitment to her after she suffered a stroke.  It’s safe to say that Tina Ball brings out LaVar’s soft side. Yes, he has one.
With help from both LaVar and Tina’s parents along with his brothers, there’s a strong family support system and everyone plays his or her role in the family business.  Alan Foster, whose son befriended Lonzo in middle school, pitched an idea to LaVar that would turn the creation of professional endorsement deals and signature shoes for an NBA rookie on its head.  Forget NIKE, forget Adidas, Rebook and any other athletic brand. Let’s do our own.  The Big Baller Brand. Subsequently, overpriced shoes, hats, t-shirts and hoodies with triple BBBs emblazoned on them became the gear to have.
They even have a girl’s line.
Ball in The Family started airing on Facebook Watch and the dynasty had officially begun.
At the start of his rookie season, Lonzo Ball hit the court for the Los Angeles Lakers in his own signature shoe created by the Big Baller Brand. Major pop-up shops across the world soon followed and the JBA league which was a direct marketing tool for the Triple BBBs took off as well. Minus Lonzo suffering from continuous ankle problems (which the Lakers reportedly think are caused by his triple BBBs shoes) business was booming.
Melo Ball's 16th Birthday
Alan Foster was leading the way. He served as LaVar’s business partner, advisor and was purported to be the one who organized LaMelo’s move to SPIRE Institute in Ohio and kept close contact with LiAngelo’s agent to keep LaVar abreast on what moves were possible in advance for his middle son. LaVar trusted him blindly to not only manage the family business but some of Lonzo’s personal business as well. Afterall, Foster is a Co-Owner of BBB so it seemed like a win/win.
Alan held a near 17% stake in the company while Lonzo was the majority holder with over 51% percent leaving just over 30% presumably for LaVar, Melo and Gelo to split. I’m pretty sure Lonzo initially funded the Big Baller Brand.  He had just signed a 3-year 22 million dollar deal with the Lakers when BBB started.
There was only one instance that appeared to be a red flag but with new startups some bumps in the road are expected.  On one episode of Ball In The Family a number of JBA players hadn’t been paid. Deposits were quickly made, but it made you question how money was being transferred for both payments and purchases.  It’s no secret that the other triple BBB – The Better Business Bureau isn’t too fond of the Big Baller Brand.  There has been a number of complaints from consumers. But again, with startups you expect a few wrinkles.
But what you don’t expect is to have the Co-Owner and friend of the family embezzle $1.5 million dollars in the first year and a half of the company’s existence and Lonzo Ball’s professional career.  However, when the Co-Owner is a convicted fraudster……it’s more than plausible. In fact financial misdeeds are not new to Foster.
According to federal records, in 2002, he was sentenced to more than seven years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of mail fraud and two counts of money laundering as part of a scheme that defrauded 70 investors of $4 million. Foster was also ordered to pay $3.7 million in restitution to victims.
Lonzo told ESPN that he believes, “Alan Foster used his access to my business and personal finances to enrich himself. As a result, I have decided to sever all ties with Alan, effective immediately.”
Lonzo also scrubbed all visuals of the Big Baller Brand and logo including the triple BBBs tattoo that he had on his forearm.  It’s been replaced by a pair of dice showing allegiance to his two younger brothers with the numbers 1,2,3.
All three of the Ball brothers have stopped following the Big Baller Brand on social media as well. And ..I’m sure that won’t be the end of it.

That Doesn’t Make It Right: Cardi B Admits To Drugging And Robbing Men To Survive

(New York, NY) – Cardi B may find herself in some trouble after a video surfaced that shows her talking about how she used to drug and rob men back in her stripper days.

In today’s me too climate, one thing is for sure…if she was a guy she would’ve been arrested already.

Not that it helps matters but she took to social media to explain why she did.   Cardi B wrote in an Instagram post yesterday that she isn’t proud of her actions, but had limited options at the time and felt she had to do it in order to make a living. She also said that the men involved were ones she was dating who knew what she was doing.

I personally, don’t believe any guy would agree to be drugged just to be robbed.  For all that, just ask them for the money. **shrugs**

I believe Cardi knows that her actions could result in criminal charges and that’s why she’s contending that the men were aware of what she was doing. HOWEVER, one of Cardi’s alleged victims, Kevin Smith, is telling a different story.

“I was in New York about five years ago training and my trainer suggested we go to a strip club. Normally, I would’ve turned him down but this time I decided to go. So, boom, we go to the strip club and I meet Cardi, I’m feeling her and convinced her to come back to the room with me to have a drink. I’d been drinking already so I had to piss, I slid to the bathroom and came back and finished off my drink. Last thing I remembered was she was twerking on me, music blasting and that was it. The next morning, I saw a used condom on the floor and then I noticed all the cash I had which was about $850, my Louis Vuitton belt and my iPod touch was missing. I tried calling her several times but i soon realized she gave me a google voice number. I know she did it but I couldn’t prove it so I never went to file charges mainly because I did not want my fiancée at the time to know what had happened so I took my ‘L’. I can’t lie, it was certainly traumatizing and as a man, you never want to admit you were taken advantage of. No man wants to say #MeToo” says Smith.

Geno Breaker went on to point out that according to the state of New York, Smith is still within the time frame to press charges.  Smith says he has no plans to press charges.

Attorney Michael Avenatti is addressing the possibility of going to prison.

(New York, NY-AP) – The lawyer famous for representing adult film star Stormy Daniels sat down for an interview that aired on CBS This Morning. He was charged in New York Monday with attempting to extort millions of dollars from Nike. On the same day, Avenatti was charged with bank and wire fraud in California.

The complaint from Nike alleges Avenatti sought 20-million-dollars from the company in what federal prosecutors call “an old-fashioned shakedown.” The California complaint alleges Avenatti tried to embezzle one-point-six-million dollars from a client. He faces up to 100 years in prison if convicted in both cases but insist the facts are on his side and believes he’ll be exonerated.

Senate Leader Blocks Resolution Demanding Release Of Mueller Report

(Washington, DC-AP) — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is again blocking a resolution demanding the full release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s  final report. The resolution recently cleared the House in a unanimous vote. McConnell called the Democratic resolution unnecessary because Attorney General William Barr is currently working with Mueller to determine what in the report should or should not be released. A Justice Department official expects it will take Barr “weeks not months” to prepare a public version of the confidential report. There will likely be redactions involving any classified data or confidential Grand Jury material.

California Democrat Dianne Feinstein said many people are rushing to judgment without having access to the full report. Barr summarized Mueller’s findings Sunday, noting that the Special Counsel found no evidence of collusion or conspiracy between Russia and President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He noted that Mueller did not exonerate Trump on the question of obstruction of justice. Barr also announced that the Justice Department would not embark on a broader investigation of obstruction.

Chicago Police Want Smollett Investigation, Angry After Charges Dropped

(Chicago, IL) – Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says dropping charges against actor Jussie Smollett  amounts to whitewashing justice. Smollett was being charged with lying about a racist and homophobic attack. Emanuel said prosecutors showed that there’s a different set of rules for people in an influential position. Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said justice wasn’t served because Smollett got a brokered deal.

Now the Chicago police union wants an investigation into the prosecutor who exchanged emails with a former chief of staff to Michelle Obama about the Jussie Smollett case. The union wants the Department of Justice to investigate State’s Attorney Kim Foxx to determine the extent of her involvement with the case.

Foxx had recused herself from the case, but the Chicago Sun Times reports former chief of staff Tina Tchen had put Foxx in touch with Smollet’s family days after he told police about the alleged attack.
