(Windsor Castle, UK) – The eyes of the world watched on as the long-awaited royal wedding took place today.Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They exchanged vows at St. George’s Chapel. The 36-year-old Los Angeles-born actress wore a flowing white Givenchy gown. Thirty-three-year-old Prince Harry and his best man, his brother Prince William, donned their military uniforms. Markle was walked down the aisle by Harry’s father, Prince Charles, as her own father was unable to attend due to health issues.Her mother, however, was on hand for the big day. Harry could be seen wiping away tears as a special message was read during the ceremony by his late mother’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes.
After the ceremony, the couple rode through the streets of Windsor in a horse-drawn carriage as crowds cheered them on. The couple announced their engagement late last year and their wedding today, the second for Markle, makes her just the second American to marry into the British royal family. They will be living at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace.

Markle’s veil featured hand-embroidered flowers from all 53 counties that make up the Commonwealth. She also wore a tiara, reportedly picked from Queen Elizabeth’s jewelry vault.
