(Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) – TPC Sawgrass was the place to be this weekend as the PGA Tour settled in for the Players Championship.
(AP) – Star Wars filmmaker George Lucas is the wealthiest celebrity in America this year. He tops Forbes’ 2018 list with a net worth of five-point-four billion dollars. Filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes in second with three-point-seven billion, followed by television producer and former talk show host Oprah Winfrey with two-point-eight billion.
Former NBA player Michael Jordan is fourth with one-point-seven billion, and reality TV star Kylie Jenner and rapper Jay-Z are tied for fifth with 900 million each. The rest of the list includes magician David Copperfield, rapper Diddy, professional golfer Tiger Woods and author James Patterson.
(Atlanta, Ga) – Tiger woods looked like the rock start that he is Sunday as the final round of the PGA tour went down at the East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta. Droves of fans followed the golf legend from hole to hole as the final round of the Championship came to a close with Tiger still holding onto the lead.
(SL) -There were recent photos of Tiger Woods hanging out with Kristin Smith, the 34-year old ex-wife of Dallas Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh; but the golf icon says don’t believe the hype. In fact those photos could possibly be old.
Tiger took to twitter to vehemently denied the report and says he and Kristin Smith are no longer dating. Furthermore, the 14-time major champion says the two haven’t dated since last year.
So maybe Woods wasn’t the boyfriend who gifted Smith with 200,000 cash when she was questioned by authorities in about the loot in an airport earlier this year.
On a different note, Woods could see his DUI charges expunged after agreeing to enter a diversion program as part of his not guilty plea, stemming from his DUI arrest in May.
According to the AP, he is expected to enter the program on October 25th in order to have his charges dropped and keep him out of jail. He has not played golf competitively since withdrawing from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic after the opening round back in February.
(SL) – Okay, let’s just get straight to the point. If no one else will say it, I will. Tiger Woods needs to lay off of the pills. This is the second time he has crashed and faced police due to a ‘reaction’ from prescription meds. The first time (following his fight with Elin after cheating scandal) didn’t result in an arrest. But this time it did.
One look at the full sobriety test, which dispels earlier reports that he refused to take one, shows a man that clearly should not have been behind the wheel of a vehicle. He was high as a kite.
Woods was found asleep in his Mercedes with the car still running. And judging from these pictures, he clearly hit something as seen with the damage to his car and wheels. In fact, both rims on the driver’s side had damage while all four tires were flat. The Daily Mail reports:
- The 41-year-old golfer had to be woken up by an officer and stated that he did not know where he was after first claiming he had driven from California
- His speech was ‘extremely slow and slurred’ according to the report, and he failed four field sobriety tests
- Woods did submit to a breathalyzer and blew a .000 both times, which suggests that there was no alcohol in his system but he was on prescription drugs
Jupiter police released the shocking video that shows the father of two swaying, rolling his eyes and falling asleep as police administer field sobriety tests before he was arrested for DUI and taken into police custody.
Slurring his words as he tried to answer questions from police, Tiger could barely stand up and kept weaving and bobbing, failing to walk a straight line barefoot after removing his sneakers.
His speech was ‘extremely slow and slurred’ and he failed four field sobriety tests, although he blew .000 into a breathalyzer, suggesting he hadn’t been drinking alcohol. He was on several prescription drugs.
‘Woods stated that he did not know where he was. Woods had changed the story of where he was was going and where he was coming from.’
He then asked ‘how far from his house he was,’ according to the affidavit. When asked again where he was coming from and heading to, he told police he was leaving LA and ‘that he was on his way down to Orange County.’
Wearing athletic shorts and a t-shirt, Woods was actually driving south, away from his home on Jupiter Island, the report notes.
After a fellow cop, who was interviewing the suspect returned to his car, he observed ‘the driver fell asleep with his eyes closed and his head up against the headrest.’
Woods was described as cooperative and confused at first in the reports, which goes on to reveal that he agreed to a breathalyzer despite earlier reports.
The Daily Mail goes on to report that the affidavit reveals that Woods was on four prescription drugs – Soloxex [sic], Vicodin, Torix and Vioxx. But at the same time, the affidavit notes that Woods has not taken Vioxx this year.
Woods refused however to complete the question and answer section of the form, which involves a mix of general questions about the current date and time along with personal questions about physical aliments or any prescription drugs an individual is taking at the time.
In the Notice to Appear, Officers state that there was no indication of alcohol influence during Woods’ arrest, but under drug influence marked ‘unknown.’
Woods, whose occupation is listed as ‘athlete,’ is facing a traffic misdemeanor for his driving under the influence arrest and will make his first appearance in court later this summer.
(SM) – Palm Beach County reports golfer Tiger Woods was arrested on early Monday in Florida on a charge of drunk driving.
The 41-year-old was arrested around 3 am on Military Trail, south of Indian Creek Parkway in Jupiter where he has an $83 million dollar home on Jupiter Island and a restaurant called The Woods. Woods, described as ‘arrogant’ by the arresting officers refused to take a breathalyzer test after he was stopped while driving erratically in his 2015 Mercedes Benz. Tiger claims he ‘fully cooperated’ and made the point of thanking Jupiter Police.
Woods was booked at 7:18 am and released on his own recognizance at 10:50 am. This is the second time he’s been caught driving under the influence.
Woods claims his DUI arrest in Florida was because of an ‘unexpected reaction’ to his medication and not because he was drunk. In a statement released Monday, the golfer blames a ‘mix of medications’ and apologized to his family, friends and fans for his arrest.
TIGER’S FULL STATEMENT
‘I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved,’ wrote Woods, 41.
‘What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.
‘I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans. I expect more from myself too.
‘I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.
‘I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Department and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office for their professionalism.’
