(Canton, OH) – Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The linebacker who helped bring the Ravens to two Super Bowls was inducted last night at the ceremony in Canton, Ohio.

Lewis spoke for over 30 minutes before the crowd of over 22-thousand, and his passionate speech was often greeted with cheers from Ravens fans. This year’s other inductees include Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, hard-hitting safety Brian Dawkins and standout receivers Terrell Owens and Randy Moss.

After the basketball superstar’s recent interview with CNN anchor Don Lemon,Trump tweeted late Friday night that James was interviewed ”by the dumbest man on television,” but that he ”made Lebron look smart,which isn’t easy to do.” The president also tweeted “I like Mike!” – suggesting that he sides with Michael Jordan in the argument over whether he or James is the greatest NBA player ever.

Among the athletes who have jumped to defend James is Jordan himself, telling The Associated Press ”I support LeBron James.He’s doing an amazing job for his community.” LeBron also received support from an unlikely defender…Trump’s wife Melania.  She praised LeBron for what he’s doing and even offered to visit his new ‘I Promise’ school.  Some of Trump’s supporters even lashed out at 45 saying this was a new low. Sheriff Defends Stand Your Ground Investigation

(Clearwater, FL) — A Florida sheriff is defending his decision not to arrest the man who pulled the trigger in the latest “Stand Your Ground” shooting death. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told reporters today “I do not do what people want because of outrage,” but added the investigation is ongoing and he will turn the case over to the State Attorney’s office “shortly.”

His comments come nearly two weeks after Michael Drejka  and Markeis McGlockton got into an argument over whether McGlockton’s girlfriend should have been parked in the handicapped space at a convenience store in Clearwater.

Video shows McGlockton shoving Drejka to the ground, which prompted Drejka to pull a gun and shoot McGlockton in the chest. Jay-Z’s Trayvon Martin Docuseries Premieres

(SL) – Jay-Z’s documentary about the death of teenager Trayvon Martin premieres Monday night. The six-part series called Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story airs on the Paramount Network.

Seventeen-year-old Martin was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida in 2012. Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, but was acquitted in 2013. Martin’s death sparked the nationwide Black Lives Matter movement.

Duck Boat Operator Sued For $100M

(Branson, MO) — The operators of the Duck Boat that sank on July 19th in Branson, Missouri killing 17 people is facing a 100-million-dollar wrongful death lawsuit.

Attorney Bob Mongeluzzi said the claim states the canopy of the boat trapped those on board and dragged them to the bottom of the lake. Multiple companies are named in the lawsuit of being aware of the dangers of the vehicles yet doing nothing about it.

Families of the victims who died filed the lawsuit yesterday in the U.S. District Court. The vessel had 31 people on board when it left the shore on Table Rock Lake before a severe thunderstorm caused the boat to capsize and sink.

Man Killed By Police In Aurora Home Invasion Was Armed Homeowner

(Aurora, CO) — Police in Aurora, Colorado say a man shot and killed by officers this morning during a home invasion was an armed homeowner who had just killed an intruder. Officers were called to the home just after 1 a.m. Police say the officers heard gunshots as they arrived on scene and shot the homeowner moments after he had shot the man who had broken into his home.

Alcohol In Breast Milk May Cause Lower Cognitive Skills In Children

(SL) – New mothers are being encouraged to think twice before drinking. A study published today in the journal Pediatrics says children who are exposed to alcohol through breast milk may experience a drop in their cognitive abilities.

Researchers at the University of Australia followed the development of more than five-thousand infants since 2004. The researchers found an increased consumption of alcohol aligned with lower nonverbal reasoning in children who were breastfed by the time they were six and seven years old.

The good news is they discovered when those children were ten and eleven years old they did not notice the lower cognitive ability.

Thieves Steal Shark From San Antonio Aquarium By Sneaking It Out In a Stroller

(San Antonio, TX) – Officials with the San Antonio Aquarium in Texas say a trio of thieves stole a shark and smuggled it out of the aquarium in a stroller. A spokeswoman for the aquarium said a suspect is in custody and the shark is alive and well, despite the traumatic experience.

Video surveillance shows the thieves walking through the aquarium on Saturday before driving off with the 16-inch horn shark. They apparently snagged the shark from the interactive “touch pool,” threw it into a bucket and then into the stroller.

Staff eventually caught up to the thieves.
