(AP) — There are reports George Zimmerman has threatened rap mogul Jay-Z and his superstar wife Beyonce.
Jay-Z is the producer of a new documentary about Trayvon Martin, the teenager Zimmerman shot and killed while acting as a Neighborhood Watch volunteer in Florida. The celebrity news website The Blast reports Zimmerman insulted and threatened Jay-Z and Beyonce in text messages to a private investigator.
Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder in the 2012 shooting death of the unarmed 17-year-old African-American.

Seventeen-year-old Martin was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Sanford, Florida in 2012. Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, but was acquitted in 2013. Martin’s death sparked the nationwide Black Lives Matter movement.
(Sacramento, CA) – A Tallahassee attorney known for taking on controversial civil rights cases has been retained by the family of an unarmed black man who was shot and killed by police in California last week. Benjamin Crump gathered at Sacramento City Hall yesterday with Stephon Clark’s family members, the NAACP, and leaders of Black Lives Matter.He pointed out that white suspects in the South Florida high school massacre and the Texas package bombings were not shot, while the unarmed Clark was shot 20 times. Crump has represented families of victims in other shooting cases including Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Tamir Rice.
