(Washington, DC-AP) — Members of the U.S. military in Iraq are on high alert after a rocket attack. A single rocket landed outside the U.S. embassy in Baghdad but no casualties have been reported.
The Trump administration recently ordered U.S. diplomatic personnel out of Iraq due to heightened tensions with Iran. On Twitter Sunday, Trump wrote that “if Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran.”
He also warned Tehran not to threaten the U.S. Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have been on the rise in recent weeks. The U.S. has sent a carrier strike group and bombers to the Middle East over the frayed relationship.
The U.S. maintains a military force in Iraq to help Iraqi security forces in the fight against ISIS.
