(New York City, NY-AP) — A major player in Mexico’s Sinaloa drug cartel is telling all in the trial of alleged kingpin El Chapo. Vicente Zambada Niebla testified in a New York City courtroom for over five hours yesterday.
Zambada is the son of cartel leader Ismael Zambada Garcia, and gave details about nearly every aspect of the drug-trafficking operation. According to The New York Times, Zambada shared details about smuggling routes, money-laundering schemes, bloody wars and vendettas, and millions of dollars in bribes.
Zambada’s father is the former partner of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, and is still on the DEA’s most wanted list.
