(AP) — Rapper Lil Nas X may be coming out as gay at the end of Pride Month. He wrote on Twitter yesterday that before the month ended, he wanted everyone to listen closely to a song on his latest EP titled C7osure [[ closure ]].
The track includes lyrics about letting go and using his time to be free, and doing something now so he doesn’t regret it when he’s old. Lil Nas X also tweeted a zoomed in photo of a rainbow featured on the cover of the EP, and said he thought he made it obvious.
Many of his fans and other celebrities have assumed he means he is a member of the LGBTQ community.
(Oakland, CA) – Oakland rapper G-Eazy is arrested in Sweden on suspicion of assault, possession of narcotics and use of narcotics. That’s according to TMZ, which released video of Eazy being escorted out of a Stockholm club in handcuffs.
Sources say the “No Limit” singer was hanging out at the club after his concert performance last night and became “belligerent.”
Police were called when Eazy allegedly threw punches at security guards who tried to calm him down.
(Amarillo, TX) – Rapper 03 Greedo is reportedly heading to prison for 20 years on gun and drug charges. “Pitchfork” reports he was charged in 2016 with possession of over 400 grams of meth and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
He was supposedly handed down the 20-year sentence after pleading guilty to both charges last week in Amarillo, Texas. Greedo sent out a tweet last week apologizing to his fans for letting them down, and said he has new music that will be dropping soon.
A “free Greedo” hashtag has circulated on social media.
(New York, NY) – Rapper DMX is facing the music after being sentenced in a tax fraud case. A judge sentenced DMX to a year in prison on Wednesday. Prosecutors say the rapper, born Earl Simmons, failed to pay nearly two-million-dollars in taxes.
The judge granted a request from Simmons before handing down the sentence and allowed DMX’s song “Slippin” to be played for the court.
His attorney asked that the song be played so the judge could get a better sense of his client’s personality.
(SL) – Rapper Fabolous is in trouble with the law. TMZ is reporting he surrendered to cops in Englewood, New Jersey last night after his longtime girlfriend, “Love and Hip Hop” star Emily B reported that he had hit her.
Fabolous, real name John David Jackson, didn’t spend any time in jail, but was given a citation and a court date. No word yet on when that’ll be.
