(AP) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s new memoir “Becoming” hits the shelves today. In the memoir, the former First Lady gives a brutally honest opinion on the current President Donald Trump.
Obama will kick off a 10-city U.S. book tour tonight in Chicago, where she grew up. Philanthropist and television icon Oprah Winfrey sat down with Obama earlier this month for an in-depth conversation that will air tonight.
Winfrey announced yesterday that she has picked “Becoming” as her new Book Club pick.
(Washington, DC) – Barack Obama may have locked down his next move following his departure from the White House. “The New York Times” reports the former president and his wife, Michelle, are in talks to produce a series of Netflix shows.
One show may reportedly involved Obama moderating conversations about immigration, climate change, voting rights and other topics he tackled during his presidency.
Further details of the production detail have not been confirmed.

Former first lady Michelle Obama, Blue Ivy, Serena Williams, Tina Knowles, Michelle and Kelly all paid tribute to the mother-of-three by getting in formation and paying homage to the singer by recreating one of her iconic looks from the video.

(SL) – 200 Guests including the First Lady’s brother Craig and his wife, Steve Jobs’ widow and her boyfriend former DC Mayor Adrian Fenty, Chrisette Michelle (who also performed) and her date, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and her date Jason Turner along with others were present at the white house for the 12th state dinner of President Obama’s administration.
A ‘Celebration of Summer Bounty’ marked the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between the U.S. and the city-state, which Obama refers to as an anchor for the U.S. presence in Southeast Asia.
Sticking to her support of American designers, Michelle looked stunning in her custom made Brandon Maxwell gown. Maxwell, originally from Longview, Texas, became a household name because of his work with Lady Gaga, but has also dressed stars including Gwyneth Paltrow and Uma Thurman.
(SL) – One look at First Lady Michelle Obama’s Cobalt blue silk crepe, with cap sleeves, a flared skirt and a neat waist dress and you instantly thought she intently stuck with the patriotic theme of the DNC. But there’s so much more to Michelle’s dress than its color. The dress was made by fourth season Project Runway winner Christian Siriano who has made a name for himself on the New York City Fashion scene. He’s also the designer that stepped up to dress Leslie Jones, the late-40-something six-foot-tall star of the movie remake “Ghostbusters,” after she complained that no designer wanted to dress her for the premiere. Siriano came forward and made a custom off-the-shoulder red gown for her premiere. In reference to the Leslie Jones situation, Siriano said, “I just don’t think anyone should be excluded from having a beautiful dress.”
Happenstance…maybe? But I believe the First Lady was putting some ‘respek’ on Siriano’s name for the professional and sweet Jones gesture. You see, that was only the second time Mrs. Obama wore a Siriano dress. The first time came earlier this month at the funeral for the police officers killed in Dallas. With that being said, The First Lady is known for supporting new and independent American designers especially when the background threads more than just the fabric.
(SL) – “When they go low, we go high.” First Lady Michelle Obama took some quiet jabs at Donald Trump and pointed out the importance of placing nuclear codes and military control in the right hands. While she pointed out Hillary Clinton’s strengths, one couldn’t help but think that maybe one day there will be another Obama in the White House.
