Dr. Jackie is an award winning OBGYN and two-time breast cancer survivor so this is an event that’s very personal and dear to her heart. In its’ 6th year, this year’s theme was Winter Wonderland and designer Leon Bramer draped each model in original couture pieces.

What’s unique about this fashion gala is the model roster is comprised with both supporters and survivors or warriors as Dr. Jackie calls them – embodying the foundation’s mission of enhancing the emotional and physical well-being of breast cancer patients and their families.

A night of fashion, impact and inspiration, Dr. Jackie’s cast mates Dr. Simone and Dr. Heavenly were also there to support along with radio personality Sasha The Diva and 200 other attendees.  It was a grand affair indeed.

And as the month of October continues, let’s carry on with raising awareness and pushing a healthy life agenda. Breast cancer is something that does not discriminate and there have even been cases with men being diagnosed.  Speaking with Dr. Jackie, she commented that she had a patient that was just a tender 18 years old. It’s imperative to  practice healthy habits stay current with self exams, mammograms and clinical exams.

As Dr. Jackie always says, early detection is the best protection!

After the fashion presentation, Hill Harper and Dr. Jackie led an auction to find individual donors to sponsor the 50 Shades of Pink Gift Baskets that the foundation provides to breast cancer patients.
Then, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed closed the program with a surprise check for $20,000 to the foundation to further their efforts to bring comfort and care to breast cancer survivors.
