(Dickson County, TN) – The Tennessean reports, the manhunt for a suspect wanted in the Wednesday killing of a Middle Tennessee sheriff’s deputy came to an end this morning when Steven Wiggins was apprehended by law enforcement.
He was found on Pumpkin Branch Road, not far from the incident, by a THP trooper, according to the Hickman County Sheirff’s Office. Wiggins, 31, was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old Dickson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Daniel Baker, who was found dead in his vehicle Wednesday morning after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle near Sam Vineyard and Tidwell Switch roads.
A photo released by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation shows him seated in the back of a patrol car wearing a black polo shirt and jeans that are ripped.
The reward for information leading to the capture of the Wiggins had been upped to 46-thousand dollars. A woman arrested yesterday in connection with the killing was in the vehicle with Wiggins when the shooting took place. She is being charged with first-degree murder.
