(AP) – Madonna is responding to claims that she got butt implants. It comes after photos from the pop star’s surprise New Year’s Eve performance at a bar in New York City surfaced online.
People said it looked like she had butt enhancement surgery, or was wearing padding during the performance. Madonna wrote alongside a selfie on her Instagram page that she’s seeking no one’s approval, and is entitled to free agency over her body, just like everyone else.
(New York, NY) – Some of the world’s biggest celebrities gathered for the annual Met Gala this evening in New York City. The theme for this year’s benefit is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination”, attendees were asked to interpret through their attire.
Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker and Katy Perry are some of the celebrities who stood out at last night’s Met Gala. The annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City featured the theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Rihanna arrived dressed as the pope, Parker had a nativity scene headpiece, and Perry wore six-foot angel wings.
Timothy Cardinal Dolan attended. According to an Archdiocese of New York spokesman, Cardinal Dolan will likely wear the cassock that he would don to any formal evening dinner.
Headpieces were the most common accessory of the night, with numerous stars showing up in crowns and halos. Among the men who stood out for their fashion choices were Michael B. Jordan, Shaun White, Chadwick Boseman and Jared Leto.
The night also included a proposal from rapper 2 Chainz to his longtime girlfriend.
(Daily Mail) – Sean Penn has filed a $10 million defamation suit against director Lee Daniels, who he claims falsely accused him of being a wife beater in a recent interview.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter published last week, Daniels compared the domestic violence histories of both Penn and Empire star Terrence Howard, saying: ‘[Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f*****’ demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.’
But Penn claims that Daniels was wrong to compare him with Howard – who has admitted to hitting two of his wives.
The Daily Mail reports, Daniels falsely equates Penn with Howard, even though, while he has certainly had several brushes with the law, Penn (unlike Howard) has never been arrested, much less convicted, for domestic violence, as his ex-wives (including Madonna) would confirm and attest,’ the lawsuit reads. Penn’s lawyer, former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, writes in the lawsuit that as a public figure, the actor has ‘for years been the subject of scandalous, scurrilous, and baseless attacks.
‘But Penn like any citizen, has a right to defend himself and will no longer tolerate the reckless and malicious behavior of others, who seek to aggrandize themselves or their projects at his expense. Accordingly, and because of Daniels’ defamatory statements, Penn brings this action for monetary relief, and to deter Daniels and others from their defamatory actions.’
Penn went on to say that Daniels statements about Howard were ‘egregious’ in the sense that they also seem ‘to condone Howard’s reported misconduct.’ Daniels directs Howard on the Fox hit series Empire.
