Loughlin Seek Evidence In College Admissions Scam Case

(Boston, MA-AP) – Actress Lori Loughlin and her husband want to see the evidence against them in the college admissions cheating case. Lawyers for the actress and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, filed documents requesting the government turn over the evidence in their case.

The couple are accused of paying 500-thousand dollars in bribes to get their daughters into USC. They are among dozens of wealthy parents charged in the scam. Loughlin and Gianulli are charged with money laundering and conspiracy after turning down a plea agreement.

A Joke? Loughlin Thought D.A. Was Bluffing

(Los Angeles, CA_AP) — Actress Lori Loughlin  may have thought the charges against her were bogus. There are several reports that say the former Full House star thought the District Attorney in Boston was bluffing, and believed that she might be able to skate by.

There are also reports that she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli rejected a plea deal. Loughlin and her husband are accused of paying $500-grand in bribes to get her kids into USC and they face hefty fines and prison time.

More Than a Dozen Parents Due in Court for Largest College Cheating Scheme in U.S. History

(Boston, MA-AP) — More than a dozen parents charged in the nationwide college admissions cheating scheme are appearing in court. Authorities say the parents paid to rig their children’s standardized test scores or they bribed coaches and college administrators to get their children into prestigious universities.

Among the group of parents appearing in court today is Michelle Janavs, a member of the family that invented of “Hot Pockets.” Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who were also charged, are not scheduled to appear in court until next week. At least three people have pleaded guilty in the case in Boston, including former Yale Women’s Soccer Coach Rudy Meredith.

Federal Court Appearances In College Admissions Scandal Today

(Boston, MA) — A dozen people accused in the nation’s biggest college admissions bribery case are due in Boston federal court today. They include six college athletic coaches, an associate athletics director, two SAT/ACT test administrators, and two people accused of working with alleged ringleader Rick Singer.

Singer’s accused of orchestrating the cheating and bribery scandal. He’s pleading guilty. The case involves elite schools including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and USC. A number of wealthy parents, including actors Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, are accused of paying bribes to get their children into the colleges.

In related news, hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre and his daughter were forced to remove tweets celebrating her recent acceptance to USC that also showed Andre Young taking swipes at parents who cheated to get their children in.

It seems Dr. Dre forgot USC named a building in his honor after he generously donated $70 million dollars to the school.

Sephora Drops Lori Loughlin’s Daughter Amid College Scandal

(Los Angeles, CA-AP) — The fallout from the college cheating scandal continues for the daughter of actress Lori Loughlin.

The makeup company Sephora has reportedly dropped its partnership with Olivia Jade. TMZ is reporting that the 19-year old YouTube star was behind a product called the Olivia Jade x Sephora palette and the partnership has been terminated, effective immediately.

Loughlin and her husband are accused of handing over around half a million dollars in bribes so their kids can get into USC.

More Lawsuits Against Elite Schools After Bribery Scandal

(San Francisco, CA-AP) — A California woman is launching a 500-billion-dollar lawsuit in connection to the nationwide school bribery scandal. Jennifer Kay Toy filed a class action complaint in San Francisco Superior Court yesterday against actresses Lori Loughlin, Felicity Huffman, and 40 other defendants.

The former Oakland teacher claims her son and other children did not get a “fair chance” in gaining admission to colleges and universities caught up in the cheating scandal. The defendants are accused of conspiracy, bribery, and the use of charitable organizations to hide illegal payments.

Actress Lori Loughlin is free on one-million-dollars bail but will eventually have to give up her passport. The Full House actor made her first appearance in federal court in downtown L.A. She’ll be allowed to continue traveling to Canada for work but will have to surrender her passport by mid-December. She and her husband are accused of spending half-a-million dollars to get their daughters into USC as part of the crew team, despite the fact they never took part in the sport.

Both will appear in court in Boston on March 29th.

UPDATE: As the scandal rages on, the Hallmark Channel is cutting ties with Lori Loughlin.  As reported earlier, she was in Canada filming for the channel when a warrant was made for her arrest.

USC is also saying students connected to the scam will be denied admission and case-by-case review will be conducted for students who are already enrolled at USC and might be connected to the scheme.
