Kyler Murray First Player Ever Taken In First Round Of Two Major Sports Drafts

(Nashville, TN) — Kyler Murray is the first athlete to be selected in the first rounds of both the NFL and Major League Baseball drafts. The Heisman Trophy winner and Oklahoma quarterback was selected with the Number One pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL draft on Thursday.

The Oakland A’s picked Murray with the ninth pick of the 2018 draft after a standout career as a center fielder for the Sooners. Oakland offered Murray a four-and-a-half million dollar signing bonus and allowed him to return to Oklahoma to play football for his junior season. Unfortunately for them, he was the Heisman winner that season and became a hot NFL prospect.

The A’s offered Murray an additional 14-million dollars to stick with baseball earlier this month. As the top pick, Murray stands to make about 30 million dollars in his first NFL contract. Murray has announced that he intends to play football.

Just Hours Away From The NFL Draft And The Top Pick Belongs To The Arizona Cardinals

(Nashville, TN) – Dreams will come true tonight for more than 220 college football players and free agents as 32 teams in the National Football League look to get a roster boost during one of sports’ biggest nights.
The Arizona Cardinals have the top pick and most think they’ll pounce on Heisman Trophy Winner and Oklahoma Sooners’ QB Kyler Murray. If the Cardinals go that route, Murray would be the 22nd Heisman Trophy Winner selected first overall.
But some say don’t write that down in ink.  There are rumors that the Cardinals have reached out to Bamma DT Quinnen Williams to let him know that he could be the top draft pick.  The Cardinals chose a QB last year with Josh Rosen and his future with Arizona could be up in the air as nobody knows what the plan is.  Other draft rumors claim that the Dolphins would like to get their hands on Rosen, so we could see some trading early on.
Other teams to watch for: The Raiders hold three of the first 32 selections with the Giants, Seahawks and Packers also owning multiple first -rounders.
For the first time, the NFL Draft will air on ABC with Good Morning America Host Robin Roberts.
