Meghan McCain Wishes Ivanka, Jared Weren’t At Father’s Funeral

(New York, NY-AP) — Meghan McCain says she was surprised that Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner showed up to her father’s funeral. The co-host of The View talked about it with Stephen Colbert on last night’s The Late Show on CBS. McCain said she thought she’d made it clear that the Trumps were not welcome around her and her father, longtime Arizona Senator John McCain.

The 81-year-old Republican died of brain cancer last August. In her emotional eulogy for her father, McCain said, “We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness, the real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly.”

The passage was seen as a clear dig at President Trump. She told Colbert she was uncomfortable that Trump’s daughter and son-in-law were at her father’s funeral and she said she hoped she made them uncomfortable too

Lock Her Up? Donald Trump Weighs in on Ivanka Emails

(Washington, DC-AP) — President Trump says his daughter’s private emails were not deleted nor did they contain classified information.

Trump made the comment in response to a Washington Post story that said Ivanka Trump used a personal email account to send messages to White House aides and cabinet officials. Trump says there was no cover-up attempt and the story has been amped up by “Fake News.”

Trump said the situation in no way compares to the thousands of emails that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent from a private server and then deleted.

Jones Apologizes For Interviews

(Los Angeles, CA) – Quincy Jones is apologizing for the numerous bombshells he dropped in recent interviews. The famed record producer said that after the interviews his six daughters took him aside for a family intervention to talk to him about the impact of his comments.

Jones made a lot of claims in an interview with “Vulture,” including that he dated Ivanka Trump over a decade ago and that Michael Jackson stole a lot of the music he performed. He also said he knows who killed Kennedy, and that he can’t get billionaire Elon Musk to stop trying to get him to go to Burning Man, among other things.

The 84-year-old now calls the interview “word vomit,” and says he’s sorry to anyone he offended

You See That Crack? As Kushner Faces Russia Probe Deadline, Trump Takes To Twitter To Bash The Media

(SL) – President Trump’s adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner has until the end of today to hand over more documents to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It’s part of the committee’s probe into Russian election interference. The lawmakers are looking for any records of transcripts of Kushner’s interviews with other Congressional committees, anything related to WikiLeaks, his White House security clearance and contact with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.GettyImages-658583276The pressure is getting hotter and hotter with  Trump doing everything he can to take the focus off of the probe. Withing the past few days he attacked NFL players once again, started in on immigration and travel bans and today he went to Twitter to bash the networks.

Forty-Five tweeted, “We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!”

It’s not entirely clear what set off this latest twitter attack. Trump also tweeted “Back in D.C., big week for Tax Cuts and many other things of great importance to our Country. Senate Republicans will hopefully come through for all of us. The Tax Cut Bill is getting better and better. The end result will be great for ALL!”

The Trump-Way: Kellyanne Conway Violates Ethics Rules With Fashion Plug

(SL) – Never has there been an administration with such little regard for ethics and the constitution before Donald Trump rigged his way into the White House. Whether it’s Trump’s refusal to let his companies go, his Muslim ban or Kellyanne Conway and her plug for Ivanka Trump’s clothing line, their disrespect is blatant.

“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff is what I would tell you … I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

When the President’s Counselor uttered those words on television, as she stood in front of the White House seal, she clearly violated federal law, ethics regulations and traditional standards of conduct.

Richard Painter, who was an ethics lawyer for George W. Bush’s White House, would not say in an interview that Conway broke the law, but he was candid about what the regulation clearly prohibits.

“It is a violation of federal ethics regulations prohibiting use of public office for private gain for any government employee in an official speech, an official capacity TV interview or any similar communication to promote the products or services of a particular private business belonging to the employee’s own family, the president’s family, a friend, a campaign contributor or anyone else,” Painter said. “That was strictly forbidden in the Bush administration because it is illegal.”

A complaint against Conway was filed with the Office of Government Ethics and the White House Counsel, but little will probably happen. Following White House Spokesman Sean Spicer’s comments that Conway had been ‘counseled’, she’ll clearly get away with it.

The rules specify that public officials should not use their offices for their own private gain or the private gain of others, and it’s hard to find a clearer case than this. Some reports, point out that there’s a usual process for what should happen next, and how the administration proceeds will present a real test of the Trump administration’s view of ethics and the President’s promise to “drain the swamp.”

However with Trump allegedly upset with Spicer for telling the media that Kellyanne was counseled allegedly stating that it was unfair to her, I think one can tell where this is going to go.
