(Hollywood, CA-AP) — Pop star Pink has the newest star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The Grammy-winner got her sidewalk plaque yesterday, five days before another possible Grammy win.
She is nominated for best pop vocal album for Beautiful Trauma. Pink joked that many people probably thought she’d only ever make it to the walk of shame. Ellen DeGeneres and Kerri Kenney-Silver were on hand at the Walk of Fame ceremony.
(Hollywood, CA) – Michael Jackson’s daughter is cleaning up everything that bears his name. It turns out that reports about her wiping away graffiti from her late father’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star are not entirely true.
She did clean up a Michael Jackson star, but it was that of British radio host Michael Jackson. Paris Jackson defended her actions on social media, saying that she knows there’s a difference between the radio and record emblems on stars, but a name is a name.
People were emotional over the act yesterday, thinking that she cleaned up the King of Pop’s star ahead of the ninth anniversary of his death on June 25th.
(Hollywood, CA) – Singer and actress Mary J. Blige is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Blige was grateful to receive her star on her birthday on Thursday.
Her star is in the 62-hundred block of Hollywood Boulevard, which is in front of Eastown, and is the 2,626th star on the Walk of Fame.
Sean “Diddy” Combs was on hand to help the singer unveil her star. Blige has won nine Grammys, had eight multi-platinum albums and sold over 50-million records.
She’s also ventured into acting, receiving a Golden Globe nomination for her role in “Mudbound.”
(SL) – Legendary Della Reese has died. Reportedly the actress and singer passed away at her home in California. She had battled diabetes for years. Della was the first black woman to co-host the Tonight Show. Some of her other work includes Harlem Nights, Touched By An Angel, Angel, A Thin Line Between Love And Hate and The Young and The Restless.
Della began singing in her hometown of Detroit when she was 6 years old. As a teenager, she toured with gospel great Mahalia Jackson and, at the age of 18, she formed the Meditation Singers and became the first performer to take gospel music to the casinos of Las Vegas. She went on to become a minister as well.
Della received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010. She was 86 years old with two sons and two daughters.
(SL) – Selena Quintanilla is posthumously leaving her mark in Hollywood. The late singer was honored with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in front of Capitol Records yesterday. Thousands of fans showed up to be part of the event.

Accepting the star on her behalf was Selena’s sister Suzette as well as actresses Angelica Vale and Angelica Maria, Selena’s husband Chris Perez and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. Garcetti later proclaimed November 3rd as the official “Selena Day” in the City of Angels.
Selena was shot and killed in 1995 by the president of her fan club. But yesterday, it was evident her influence on the beauty world and for Latinos aspiring to succeed in Hollywood will always live on.
