The Real Cosmetics ‘Self – Made’ Billionaire, Pat McGrath Labs Hits Billion-Dollar Status

(SL) – Vogue’s Anna Wintour, proclaimed her “the most influential makeup artist in the world.”  Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II made her a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to the fashion and beauty industry. Pat McGrath is undeniably the most influential makeup artist in the world and she’s built a billion dollar company in just two short years.

With no help from a family TV show, raunchy tape from a sister’s porn collection or 100 million plus followers on social media, Pat McGrath has built a cosmetics empire from the ground up which good old fashion talent and hard work.

Pat McGrath’s cosmetic company, Pat McGrath Labs, has reached an estimated valuation of $1 billion, surpassing the $800 million dollar value that Forbes placed on Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics. WWD reported the value of McGrath’s business.

Her ascent to the pinnacle of fashion began in the 1990s with an introduction to legendary lensman Steven Meisel by supermodel Amber Valleta. Fast friends and symbiotic collaborators, they’ve created every cover and lead editorial story for every issue of Vogue Italia, indisputably iconic images for leading global publications and countless brand-defining campaigns.

Building on that success, McGrath launched her brand in 2016 and Pat McGrath Labs instantly became a hit at Sephora stores.

Don’t be surprised if that estimated value hits $2 billion by the end of next year. As of this week, the brand accepted an investment from Eurazeo Brands, an investment division of global investment firm Eurazeo, in a $60 million deal.

To that, McGrath says she is thrilled to be working with the unique and expert team at Eurazeo Brands.”

McGrath as expected is elated about reaching this level of success. She said in a statement that it had been her “dream to create an iconic beauty brand that goes beyond the usual limitations, that lives outside the parameters of what is expected.”

‘Forbes’ Says Commerce Sec. Ross Lying About Wealth

(SL) – “Forbes” magazine says President Trump’s Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross is lying about being a billionaire. The 79-year-old has long appeared on the “Forbes” 400 list of America’s wealthiest.

His net worth last year was measured by the magazine at nearly three-billion dollars. But in a scathing report released today, the financial magazine says it intends on “removing him entirely.”

“Forbes” reports Ross’ financial disclosure forms filed after his nomination show he’s worth only 700-million dollars. “Forbes” editors wrote, “It seems clear that Ross lied to us, the latest in an apparent sequence of fibs, exaggerations, omissions, fabrications and whoppers” going back to 2004.

The secretary contends he’s created trusts for his family worth more than two-billion dollars that weren’t included in the cabinet disclosures. But “Forbes” reports that after more digging, it’s now confident “that money never existed.”
