(Los Angeles, CA-AP) – A controversial Michael Jackson documentary has won an Emmy award. Leaving Neverland was named Best Documentary during last night’s 2019 Creative Arts Emmy Awards event in Los Angeles.
RuPaul won his fourth Emmy as Best Reality Host for RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Simpsons won for Best Animated Series, and posthumous honors were given to celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.
Other winners last night included James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Springsteen on Broadway, Queer Eye, and the rock-climbing documentary Free Solo. The main Emmy Awards will be handed out on Sept. 22nd.
