(Ellicott City, MD) – A couple in Maryland probably has enough good luck to last a lifetime. Whoever said it’s good luck for it to rain on your wedding day most likely wasn’t referring to the intense flooding that hit Ellicott City on Sunday.
A wedding party and all the guests had to scramble for higher ground when floodwater gushed into the venue. One of the groomsmen said water was actually pouring down the staircase as the group was climbing upstairs. However, the bride and groom were still able to exchange vows. Search crews found the wedding and told everyone to shelter in place.A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the bride and groom recover from the event. So far, the couple has received 750-dollars of a 50-thousand-dollar goal.
