Scientists Find Genetic Patterns Between Mental Disorders

(Los Angeles, CA) – Scientists say they’ve linked autism, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder with similar gene activity.

A new study published in the journal “Science” examined 800 brains donated by people with a range of mental disorders.

In the case of these three disorders, many of the brains shared the same genetic signatures. The study’s authors hope that if more patterns can be discovered, more effective drugs can be created to treat the disorders.
