(Westerville, OH) – Two police officers are dead following a shooting in Westerville. Officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering died in a shooting that happened near Crosswind Drive Saturday morning.
Joering was with the department for 17 years and Morelli was a 30-year vet. They were responding to a 911 call related to a domestic dispute, and were met with gunfire. Morelli was pronounced dead at the scene and Joering died at the Wexner Medical Center. The suspect was wounded and taken into custody.
The “Cincinnati Enquirer” says the woman who made the 911 call identified the suspected as Quentin Smith.
