Fox Signed O’Reilly To New Contract After Sexual Harassment Settlement

(SL) –  The parent company of Fox News is admitting they knew Bill O’Reilly
settled a sexual harassment case shortly before signing the commentator to a new contract. “The New York Times” reports O’Reilly agreed to a 32-million-dollar settlement with former Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl in January.

A month later, 21st Century Fox signed the host of “The O’Reilly Factor” to a contract extension. An email statement from a company spokesman said O’Reilly informed Fox of the settlement.

O’Reilly was forced to resign in April after reports of multiple sexual harassment settlements made by O’Reilly or Fox caused advertisers to flee his program.
