(SL) – Chris Brown’s documentary “Welcome To My Life” is receiving rave reviews. Check out this piece where he opens up about that life changing night with Rihanna and what led up to it.
(SL) – History is like a marriage combined of good times and bad, for better or worse… but let’s be clear honoring those who suppressed and enslaved doesn’t deserve such loyalty. And with that being said, let death do us part.
Shall I be the next to yell “Timmmmmmberrr!” The statue of evil has crumbled to the grown. Traveling through various cities, you see pieces of history here there and everywhere and most write it off as just that. History. But some memories should’ve never been solidified in concrete, erected and paraded as a monument of pride. A part of Civil War history, yes. Worthy of concrete memories, no.
Following the announcement that a confederate statue will be removed from Charlottesville and the dismantling of a confederate statue in Durham, NC (by fed up residents), Gainesville Florida legally took the charge to fall next in line.
A monument dedicated to fallen Confederate soldiers that’s stood in downtown Gainesville, in front of the Alachua County Administration Building, for 113 years was brought down Monday and removed.
Nicknamed “Old Joe,”, the statue now stands in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Rochelle, southeast of Gainesville. A representative of the Kirby Smith Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy was on hand, but declined to comment.
(SL) – Fox News reports, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is reportedly set to appeal his six-game suspension for alleged domestic violence, and could show evidence his accuser made racially-charged statements and threatened to “ruin” his life before she made the charges.
Elliott, 22, was suspended Friday by the NFL after the league conducted a yearlong investigation into allegations the league’s leading rusher reportedly injured his former girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, during three separate incidents last summer.
Elliott has three business days to file the appeal following the suspension and sources close to the running back told NFL Network he would file an appeal either Tuesday or Wednesday.
The NFL said in a letter to Elliott it believed he used “physical force” three times during a span of five days in a Columbus, Ohio, apartment last July, resulting in injuries to Thompson’s neck, face, shoulders, arms, hands, wrists, hips and knees. Prosecutors in Columbus decided nearly a year ago not to pursue the case in the city where Elliott starred for Ohio State.
Robert S. Tobias, Columbus’ city attorney, told USA Today: “I personally believe that there were a series of interactions between Mr. Elliott and [his accuser] where violence occurred. However, given the totality of the circumstances, I could not firmly conclude exactly what happened.”
NFL Network reported Elliott filed a police report in September in Texas against Thompson. Elliott informed police Thompson called him “more than 50 times in less than eight hours,” according to Deadspin.
Elliott said he told Thompson she could not contact him due to the ongoing investigation at the time but contacted him from a blocked number. Elliott also said Thompson “hacked into his email” and called numbers she discovered and contacted them to share “untruthful things that can hurt his image.”

(SL) – He criticized her new powder contour kits, her fans went nuts and for some odd reason, she sided with Star over her fans. Yes, it’s good to accept constructive criticism and yes, people can change. But… it looks like the jury is still out on Jeffree Star and what Kim didn’t know about Star’s racist past, her fans did and were sure to point it out and call her out in the process.
People reports that on Monday, Star took to Twitter to criticize the way Kardashian West swatched her new powder contour kits.
In response, a deluge of fans began pointing out the racist comments Star has made in the past, which prompted Kardashian West to take to Snapchat to tell fans to “get off his ass” and stop “being so petty bringing up things in his past.”
Oh, no mam!
Kim’s fans blasted her and today, she took to Snapchat yet again to clarify and apologize for her comments after being hit with a wave of criticism for defending Star, 31.
“So I really wanted to apologize to you guys and my fans for defending a situation yesterday that I really didn’t know enough about,” she said. “I just feel a bit naïve, and I do want to really apologize for me feeling like I had the right to say ‘get over it’ in a situation that involves racism.”
“I just don’t really feel like I have the right to speak on that, and I really, really, really am sorry,” she said. “From the bottom of my heart, I’ve always been about positivity and I’ve never been a negative person, so my whole thing was: ‘Hey guys, I don’t want to see negativity in my timeline or my mentions, let’s just move forward — let’s be positive and move past this.”
“I really am sorry, and I just want to move forward and be positive,” she repeated. “My last message is that I do believe that people are born to love and born with love, and they are taught to hate. So I have always had hopes that people can change and that people can learn to be better and do better, and learn to find that love again. So never give up hope. That is my message for the day and that’s always been what I’m trying to say. I believe in people changing, I believe in people just being better, and I’ll never give that up. I just want people to be positive.”

(SL) – Veteran actor Tom Cruise was seen limping after coming up short during a stunt that required him to jump from building to building.
The 55-year old acting icon, who always performs his own stunts, was performing a high-octane stunt that left him crashing into the side of a building while filming “Mission: Impossible 6.”
He took a huge leap off some rigging onto a rooftop while attached to a harness and let’s just say he was left left hanging in the air.
Tom plays Ethan Hunt in the smash hit series, which also stars Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Vanessa Kirby, with details of the plot being kept under wraps.
Tom’s crash comes shortly after the CEO of Skydance Media revealed that he will be performing the “most impressive and unbelievable” stunt of his career.
Note to Tom…Get a stunt double…you’ve earned it!
(SL) – We’ve all seen the photo of a young black male bleeding profusely from the head after being attacked by white supremacists in Charlottesville. We now know who he is. Twenty-year old Deandre Harris moved to Charlottesville, Va., from Suffolk, Va., two years ago for a job opportunity as an Instructional Assistant in the special education program at a local high school.
But as The Root reports nothing could prepare him for what he experienced Saturday afternoon, when he took part in a counter protest against the “Unite The Right” white supremacy marches that took place in the city.
Zach D. Roberts captured that photo that shows Harris being beaten with poles by the white nationalists.
The shocking photo immediately went far and wide, and although Harris received multiple injuries, he says that he’s thankful to be alive to tell his story.
“They were beating me with poles. I have eight staples in my head, a broken wrist and a chipped tooth,” Harris said.
Harris said if it wasn’t for his friends who noticed him under the pile of white supremacists and helping him, he probably wouldn’t be alive to tell his story. Harris is in the process of pressing charges and the photographer who took the photo is helping his mother identify the racists who took part in the attack.
“The beating happened right beside the police department, and no police were there to help me at all. My mother is now thinking about suing the city of Charlottesville,” Harris said.
Although freedom of speech protects even the most vile of humans, Harris is still confused as to why the town let the rally happen.
“I think for them to be allowed to come here and protest is really crazy. How do you expect the KKK to come to your city to protest, and them not be violent? I understand everyone is entitled to their freedom of speech, but the government and the mayor made a bad business move. It’s only caused havoc in your own city. It’s crazier that people have the hatred in their heart to want to kill black people,” Harris stated.
Harris’ friends and family created a GoFundMe to help with his medicalexpenses, but there is no amount of money that could take away the trauma the 20-year-old experienced Saturday afternoon.
James Baldwin once said, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” The violence that erupted in Charlottesville over the last 48 hours has been the face of America since the beginning of time.
It’s gone from being cloaked in white masks to crisp Walmart and Target polos, but until those so-called allies stand up to their racist counterparts, nothing will change.
(SL) – Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys was notified today by the NFL that he will be suspended without pay for the team’s first six 2017 regular-season games for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
Over the course of the last year, the league conducted an extensive investigation. League investigators interviewed more than a dozen witnesses, including Ms. Tiffany Thompson, who had alleged multiple instances of physical violence in July 2016, and Mr. Elliott. The league also consulted with medical experts. League investigators examined all available evidence, including photographic and digital evidence, thousands of text messages and other records of electronic communications.
Pursuant to the Personal Conduct Policy, Commissioner Goodell sought the views of four external advisors (see below) to assist him in evaluating potential violations. These experts range in experience from law enforcement, judicial and public service, and other specialized subject areas.
The advisors participated in a meeting on June 26, 2017 in New York City with Elliott, who was represented by his legal team and the NFL Players Association. The group also reviewed the league’s investigative reports and materials, the expert medical reports, and multiple NFL Players Association submissions on Elliott’s behalf.
In a letter to Elliott advising him of the decision, Todd Jones, the NFL’s Special Counsel for Conduct, said these advisors “were of the view that there is substantial and persuasive evidence supporting a finding that [Elliott] engaged in physical violence against Ms. Thompson on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016.”
After reviewing the record, and having considered the views of the independent advisors, the commissioner determined that the credible evidence established that Elliott engaged in conduct that violated NFL policy.
Elliott may appeal this decision within three days. If he does not appeal, Elliott’s suspension will begin September 2, the day of final roster reductions for NFL teams. He is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. Elliott will be eligible to return to the team’s active roster on Monday, October 23following the Cowboys’ Sunday, October 22 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
(SL) – An arrest has been made after a 32-year old woman was killed when a man drove his car into a crowd during the Charlottesville protest.
That man has been identified as James Alex Fields Jr. A 20-year registered member of the Republican Party.
Fields is reportedly being held in Albermarle Charlottesville Regional Jail and is being charged with 1 count of 2nd degree murder, 3 counts of malicious wounding and 1 count of failure to stop in an accident resulting in death.
(SL) – “Hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.” ~ Donald Trump
He criticized Barrack Obama for not using the words Radical Islamic Terrorists but we’re still waiting on him to identify the lipstick on the pigs that ran a muck in Charlottesville. White Supremacy, White Nationalists…say it TRUMP.
Or are you avoiding the language because for all intents and purposes you lit the fire on the top of every torch they carried through the city. David Duke certainly didn’t mince words when he said, “We are determined to take our country back,” Duke said from the rally, calling it a “turning point. We are going to fulfill the promises of Donald Trump. That’s what we believed in. That’s why we voted for Donald Trump, because he said he’s going to take our country back.”
Not surprised by Donald Trump’s response or lack there of after calling for law and order during his campaign and waking the David Dukes in the world. Trump has called for violence publicly and has welcomed the support of the KKK, so the fact that white nationalists feel emboldened right now is fitting.
David Duke, the former KKK grand wizard, is unambiguous about what Saturday’s alt-right and neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, means to him: It’s the fulfillment of President Trump’s vision for America.
When Trump tweeted “We ALL must be united & condemn all that hate stands for. There is no place for this kind of violence in America. Lets come together as one!”
David Duke responded, “I would recommend you take a good look in the mirror & remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency, not radical leftists.”
One person who isn’t afraid to stand up to the KKK, Nazis or White Supremacists is Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe CBS Reports he decried the supporters of white nationalism who descended upon Charlottesville during a press conference Saturday, after protests there left one dead and more than 30 injured in clashes earlier in the day.
“You pretend that you are patriots, but you are anything but a patriot,” McAuliffe, flanked by Charlottesville’s mayor and police chief, said in a message to white nationalists.
“We are stronger than you,” the Democratic governor added. “You have made our commonwealth stronger. You will not succeed. There is no place for you here.”
McAuliffe said he had spoken to President Trump earlier in the day. Mr. Trump declined to name white supremacists or any specific group, saying violencewas to blame. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colorado), urged the president to and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah followed with similarly tough statements.
Mr. Trump ignored a question from a reporter as to what he would say to white supremacists who voiced support for him Saturday.
The already-violent protests turned deadly when aof counter-protesters Saturday. The incident — which is being treated as a criminal homicide investigation — left an unidentified 32-year-old woman dead and 19 others injured. An additional 15 people were hurt in separate incidents.
“This day will not define us,” Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer said.
The “Unite the Right” rally was originally supposed to protest the removal of a statute of confederate General Robert E. Lee.
(SL) – The first thing that comes to mind is these children are well aware of the damage hot water can do to flesh, let alone boiling hot water. I’m still trying to figure out what amusement the little girls at this sleepover thought they would get out of this.
Most will say, well they are just 11 and 12 year olds. But I don’t know too many preteens that would willingly jump into fire, so what made them think it would be okay to prank or exact revenge as some have said by throwing boiling hot water on someone’s face, WHILE THEY SLEPT.
Relatives of hospitalized Jamoneisha Merritt called Thursday for arrests in the scalding of the girl at her friend’s Bronx apartment.
Reportedly, the victim’s mother, Ebony Merritt, appeared outside the home of Shernett Panton and her 12-year-old daughter Aniya Grant Stuart threatening revenge and hurling obscenities.
“I’m going to cut your face, you f—ing b—h! I’m going to burn your f—ing house down! You let this happen to my daughter!”
Ebony Merritt is also accused allegedly choking Aniya and punching her 14-year-old sister Shawna in the face.
Shawna Panton says, “Now I’m getting text messages from her nieces or maybe her cousins. It makes me feel scared.”
Jamoneisha, who also goes by Jamoni, remained hospitalized Thursday at Harlem Hospital. Jamoni’s mom says, “She’s doing much better,” Merritt said. “She’s in good spirits. She saw her face; she’s OK with it. But she’s still traumatized.”
Reportedly, Aniya Stuart is in another part of the hospital under suicide watch after trying to kill herself with a knife.
Aniya was arrested for assault at 7 p.m. Monday, sources said. Family court is handling her case because of her young age.
Panton denied allegations that her daughters were guilty of bullying Jamoneisha.
“They always prank each other,” Panton said. “My daughter was sleeping and Jamoni poured cold water on Aniya. My daughter was like, ‘OK, if you’re gonna do a prank on me, I’m gonna prank you back.’
“But my daughter — I don’t know what she was thinking — boiled hot water and poured it on Jamoni’s face.”
Panton was sleeping around 4 a.m. when the bizarre incident occurred as Jamoni slept on a couch in the family living room. Shawna said she heard the screaming from her bedroom, and they put cold water on the injured girl’s face before dialing 911.
According to Panton, the injured girl was a close friend of her daughter Aniya and basically moved into their apartment about a month ago.
“What she did was really wrong, but it’s too much right now,” said Panton, 34. “My daughter is 12. Everybody makes mistakes.”
