CIA Concludes That Russia Intervened In The Elections To Help Trump Win

(SL) – I think most people already had a clue about this..because let’s just face it…..well no need…tired of saying it. But minus waking up the racists in America, we all know that Trump’s presidential run and win was void of anything Political or truly American. Hillary Clinton was he most qualified and the People’s choice. But when the electoral votes started running, the stop at 270 ended with Trump.

Those who provided WikiLeaks with emails from hacked Democratic accounts have been identified by intelligence authorities as members of a Russian campaign who worked towards the goal of seeing Trump elected, officials told the Post.

The shocking conclusion, made by a ‘consensus’ of intelligence agencies, was reported the same day President Barack Obama ordered a review of cyber attacks that targeted Democratic organizations and operatives during the 2016 elections.

But Trump’s transition team shot down the findings, issuing a statement that read: ‘These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.’

Confidential emails from the Democratic National Committee and John Podesta, the campaign chairman for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, were steadily leaked on WikiLeaks in the months before the election, damaging Clinton’s White House effort.

The US has previously tiptoed around Russia’s involvement in the elections, saying the goal was to undermine the American electoral system as a whole.

But the CIA presented the growing evidence during a secret meeting with a number of senators last week, with agents saying it had become ‘quite clear’ that the Russians were supporting a Trump victory, the Post reported.

One official who spoke to the Post described it as a ‘consensus view’, but not all 17 intelligence agencies agreed with the CIA’s findings.

While the individuals who handed the hacked emails to Wikileaks are known to the intelligence community, with links to the Russian government, there’s no evidence showing the Kremlin orchestrating their efforts, one official told the Post. But the Russian government has been known to utilize middlemen in the past.

Trump has also shot down signs pointing to Russian interference, telling TIME: ‘I don’t believe they interfered…Anytime I do something, they say “Oh, Russia interfered.”

He continued: ‘It could be Russia. And it could be China. And it could be some guy in his home in New Jersey.’

On Friday, his transition team likened the intelligence agencies to those who made flawed claims about Saddam Hussein.

They told Politico: ‘The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history. It’s now time to move on and “Make America Great Again.”

You move around it Donald..but get ready for the next headline.  He’s already backtracking on his plans and will certainly run into some constitutional conflict when he steps into office because he won’t walk away from his companies. As the New York Times reports, not long after President Obama sought advice from the Justice department about a potential conflict of interest involving a foreign government (He wanted to know whether he could accept the Nobel Peace Prize.} The answer turned on the Emoluments Clause, an obscure provision of the Constitution that now poses risks for President-elect Donald J Trump  should he continue to reap benefits from transactions with companies controlled by foreign governments.

Emolument means compensation for labor or services.  And the clause says that no person holding any office of profit or trust shall accept of any present emolument, office or title of any kind whatever from an king, prince or foreign state unless Congress consents. Trump clearly is already in violation of this.

Mr. Trump’s companies do business with entities controlled by foreign governments and people with ties to them.  The ventures include multi-million-dollar real estate arrangement with Mr. Trump’s companies either as a full owner or a branding partner in Ireland and Uruguay.  The Bank of China is a tenant in Trump Tower and a lender for another building in Midtown Manhattan where Mr. Trump has a significant partnership interest.  Experts in legal ethics say those kinds of arrangements could easily run afoul of the Emoluments Clause if they continued after Mr. Trump takes office.
