(SL) – Sometimes you’ve just got to let it go. As the new year approached, NBA Matt Barnes shared his pleasure with stepping into the new year after 2015 turned out to be less than favorable for the baller.
Barnes served a two-game suspension earlier this season for an off-court altercation with Fisher and he doesn’t seem to be over it after offering choice comments on the Knicks coach prior to Saturday’s game between New York and Memphis.
Per Ian Begley of Espn.com, Barnes said, “Every man who looks at the situation knows what’s right and wrong. Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is. And unfortunately, it happened. I don’t regret it. Like, man to man knows who’s wrong and who’s right. The NBA decided to step in and did what they did. But it is what it is.”
NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Kiki VanDeWeghe didn’t approve of Barnes’ comment, saying, “His words are unacceptable and entirely inconsistent with the core principles of this game and the NBA. Matt Barnes’ comments condoning violence do not reflect
who we are as a league or the character of our players.”
It’s no secret that Barnes exploded on Fisher after finding out that he was dating his ex-wife and mother of his twins Gloria Govan. A few weeks ago, he shared a sweet nap of them playing pool saying no matter what, they’ll always be family.
